How it Works

With a CSA Membership, you will receive a weekly share of the harvest at "distribution" throughout the season, from early June through mid to late October.
Being intimately connecting to a local farm means that each season is unique—one year could have a bumper crop of tomatoes and peppers, or a bolting of lettuce in a unusually hot month. Each year has its own challenges and rewards and is part of the experience of CSA membership.
We offer one produce share size. The share can feed a family of four (vegetarian or otherwise) with really no need to supplement as long as the family is willing to eat by the season and the vagaries of farming.
Our season starts out with fewer pounds per week of cool season vegetables, greens the first couple of weeks, followed by peas, beans, then onto all the heavier vegetables like squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, beets, carrots, potatoes. We grow over seventy types of vegetables.
Because our CSA’s success depends upon the participation of our CSA members, everyone with a working share will help with the operation of the farm throughout the season—either with harvest, distribution, field work or work committees (such as fundraising, work hours coordination, events, etc) for a minimum of 10 hours over the course of the season, though you are encouraged to volunteer more than the minimum as your schedule permits—we can always use the help. A non-working share option is also available.
All produce shares include a Basic Membership to Common Ground Farm.
