Community Textiles Project
The Community Textiles Project is a series of events that will teach community members how to harvest, process, create natural dyes and dye fibers. Sewing techniques and methods for mending will also be explored. Through collaboration and skill building, it is our goal to help people breathe new life into old garments and textiles in an effort to transform our local textile economy.
The Community Textiles Project is a collaboration between Common Ground Farm, Textile Lab, Beetle and Fred, and Diana Mae Flowers, with generous support from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legistaturte and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.
