After months of preparation, we are pleased to launch our CSA Extras program with regular distributions of meat, dairy, and other products from Lewis Waite Farm. We are offering this service to our 2012 CSA shareholders. This month we begin our CSA Extras trial period in which we will evaluate the feasibility of managing this program. At the end of the trial period, we may make adjustments to the program, including the possible addition of a small service fee to cover the cost of each distribution, and possible expansion to include other providers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for all of us – farmers and consumers -- and we look forward to this new opportunity to support sustainable agriculture.
 
What can you get? NY and VT products brought right to you!

• Frozen Meat: Beef, Pork, Lamb, Mutton, Chevon, Chicken, Duck, Rabbit, Turkey
• Dairy: Goat, Sheep, and Cow’s Milk cheeses from a variety of local dairies. Fresh, pasteurized or aged raw milk cheeses and yogurt
• Other goods: NY State organic dried beans and grains, NY State organic freshly milled flours and baking mixes, Washington County honey and maple syrup, jams and chutneys made mostly from NY fruits and vegetables, handmade, hearth baked bread, VT Sparkling Apple Cider, and VT made Granola

What details do you need to know?

• There is no obligation, but rather a month to month ordering system
• Delivery is every 3 weeks to 1 month in winter, and every other week in summer
• There is no order minimum
• Members receive email reminders from Lewis Waite before order deadline and delivery
• Pick up will be in the Common Ground Farm Distribution Room at Stony Kill between 6-8 PM on the date of delivery announced by Lewis Waite
• Our first order deadline is January 17th, and delivery date is Saturday, January 21st
• Join Common Ground Farm's CSA now and take advantage of this new program right away
• Once we have processed your CSA membership, we will forward registration, ordering and payment instructions for CSA Extras.

Who is our provider?
Lewis Waite Farm offers a variety of food that will complement a Common Ground Farm vegetable share this season. On their 250-acre family run farm they raise 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef and natural, pastured pork. They work with about 20 other farms in the area, acting as a central drop point for the farms to distribute to CSAs and buying clubs.
