Our Committees
A significant amount of Common Ground Farm’s activities are driven through our program committees which are composed of volunteer members working collaboratively with our board and staff.
Fair Food Committee
Food Justice is a driving force behind our Fair Food Committee. The committee is dedicated to working within our community to bring healthy food to those who need it, regardless of income, mobility or other barriers to access. We do that by donating food directly to the food pantry, by subsidizing the cost of produce through our Fair Share program. We also bring reduced priced produce directly to the community through Common Greens, a mobile market run by local teens, in partnership with the Green Teen Community Gardening Program. Further, through our partnership with the Green Teens, we work with local youth who, through the real work of farming, marketing and food justice outreach, build skills and knowledge about a sustainable food system.
Farm Committee
Our Farm Committee serves to support our farm workers through quality of life enhancements; our CSA shareholders through communication and organization; and our greater community through outreach education.
Development Committee
Our Development Committee supports the work of the Farm through fund development activities, including but not limited to, writing grants, securing in-kind and individual donations, coordinating fundraising projects and outreach events, and organizing our fall auction fundraising event.
Communications Committee
Our Communications Committee maintains efficient communications with our members and works with other committees to promote and market Common Ground Farm's efforts, including but not limited to the following: distribute email, web site maintenance, creation of annual report, coordination and distribution of Newsletter, oversee social media efforts, coordinate and assist with outreach to the press, oversee revision of Member Handbook, and oversee creation of posters and Farm brochure.
