Common Greens in the time of COVID-19

Since 2009 Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County’s Green Teen Program has partnered up with Common Ground Farm to bring “Common Greens” to the City of Beacon. Common Greens is a Mobile Farmers’ Market that sells affordably priced local vegetables grown by Common Ground and Green Teen to the community. This year Common Greens is turning into a Free Farm Stand - where all of the vegetables will be given out free of cost. The idea is to get vegetables to community members within walking distance of the Beacon Recreation Center who are facing financial hardship due to the pandemic or otherwise. The Free Farm Stand is held Wednesday from June through September.
