SOUP4GREENS

Ten years ago, we served our first bowl of soup to support food benefits at the Beacon Farmers’ Market.

What began as a simple, joyful fundraiser — donated soup, handmade ceramic bowls, neighbors lining up in the cool spring air — has become a cornerstone of our food access work.

For a decade, Soup4Greens has helped fund SNAP doubling and food benefits at the market, ensuring that fresh, local food remains accessible to everyone in our community.

This year, we’re aiming for $10,000.
We expect to raise $8,000 in soup and bowl sales on April 19.

And before the bowls hit the tables, before the soup sells out, before the lines form — we’re raising the first $2,000 in advance of the event.

Opening of the Fields

Opening of the Fields is an annual Common Ground event where we welcome people to visit the site where our farmers will grow food for our community. This magical moment in the season is when it all begins: our greenhouse is full of seeds just sprouting, the garlic has overwintered, and the fields are starting to be prepared for planting. This event gives our farmers and our community the opportunity to share our hopes, dreams, teachings, and blessings for the coming season. Each year we welcome community partners, friends of the farm, and musicians to help us in opening our fields.

This event is free and open to everyone, but advanced registration is encouraged.
